Jesus said, “And no one pours news wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for they say, ‘The old is better.’”
Jesus is talking about the gospel he is bringing plus the fact he is both Messiah and Son of God. He knows these messages will not fit within the traditional Jewish viewpoint. He also acknowledges it is very comfortable to stay with traditions and what you know instead of making big changes.
That hasn’t ever changed for mankind. It is very comfortable to stay with what you know. The main reasons you make changes is if you are forced to do so or if new information leads you to the conclusion that making changes is worth the risk involved.
