If you go to church regularly, you will likely be regularly exposed to teachings on major Christian topics such as grace, faith, gifts of the Holy Spirit, and salvation. You might spend weeks or months studying one of those topics.
There are probably many times you have heard a Scripture and said to yourself, “I wish someone would give me a short lesson on a particular word or topic. Not a long treatise, but enough to get a better understanding.” The purpose of this series is to do that for a wide variety of topics. For that reason, some of these videos are shorter than the typical Eyewitness episodes.
As we often caution, we are not trying to add to what the Bible says, we are trying to add context that will help you understand the Bible better. So, please read the applicable Scriptures in the study guides for these stories so you will know exactly what the Bible says.

Jonah is famous for being swallowed by a big fish. Perhaps he should be more famous for being one of the world’s best preachers. Using a short sermon of only eight words, he convinced the King of Nineveh and 120,000 citizens to repent. Their repentance was so deep that God changed his mind and did not destroy them as he had promised.
Instead of following up by convincing the people of Nineveh to follow God, Jonah threw a hissy fit and left town. It wasn’t long before the Ninevites returned to their own ways. Fast forward several decades and Jonah’s homeland is destroyed by the Ninevites. If Jonah had finished his job, perhaps things would have ended differently.
One of the saddest verses in the New Testament had to do with a group of people who did not complete their work. Jesus had just completed a particularly difficult teaching. Some of his disciples grumbled about the difficulty in accepting the teaching. Shortly afterward, the passage says, “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.”
When Paul was near the end of his life when he wrote 2 Timothy 4:7. In this famous verse, Paul talked of the importance staying faithful until the very end.
